This article outlines some of the key changes to Dribbble’s Terms of Service, effective March 17, 2025. Among other changes, this latest version introduces new policies requiring clients and designers to communicate and make/receive payments through the platform. It also prohibits sharing or displaying off-platform contact or payment instructions. Below, we answer common questions about these changes and what they mean for you, but please read our Terms of Service, as this FAQ is not meant to be a substitute for reviewing that document carefully.
What are Dribbble’s Terms of Service, and do I have to agree to them?
Dribbble’s Terms of Service are a legally binding agreement between Dribbble and you, helping us provide a safe and secure platform for all our users. We urge you to review the Terms carefully, as your legal obligations begin upon accessing the website.
What are the key updates to the most recent version of the Terms of Service?
Users are not permitted to display direct contact details (for example, phone numbers and email addresses) or direct payment instructions (for example, a Venmo handle or PayPal link) on their Profile (including their username) or any content they publish to the website (including their Shots).
More details: Designer Guidelines: Contact Details and Dribbble.
Users are not permitted to exchange contact details or payment instructions using any of Dribbble's communication features (for example, messaging and videoconferencing) or any other communication method with regard to a potential transaction until the client in that transaction has made payment on Dribbble.
As a reminder, Dribbble now offers clients the functionality to request work and make secure payments, and designers to deliver work and receive secure payouts. They can negotiate and execute complex projects without taking communications or payments off-platform.

Who do the Terms of Service apply to?
Every user is obligated to abide by the Terms.
Why is Dribbble updating its Terms of Service?
To provide a safe and secure environment for designers and clients to interact and transact, and improve the experience for all users.

Do I need to manually update my Profile and Shots?
No, if your Profile or Shots include anything that violates the Terms of Service, Dribbble will automatically make the necessary updates on your behalf on March 31, 2025. However, designers who prefer to manually update their information have until March 31, 2025 to do so.
Fields that may be updated include:
Profile Username
Profile Name
Profile Bio
Profile Location
Pro Profile Cover Image
Pro Profile Tagline
Shot Titles
Shot Descriptions
Other Shot metadata.
We encourage designers to review their updates once the changes are applied, and to reach out to Support with any questions.
When do the new Terms of Service take effect?
The new Terms of Service are effective as of March 17, 2025. Automatic updates to Profiles and Shots containing contact information will occur on March 31, 2025.
What happens if I take no action to remove my contact details?
If no action is taken, Dribbble will automatically remove all visible contact and payment information from your Profile and Shots on March 31, 2025.
Will I still be able to link to Calendly from my Pitch Video?
No, all Calendly links will be replaced with a "Get in Touch" link that directs potential clients to send a Project Request to the designer through Dribbble.
Will Shot images that contain contact details also be automatically updated? No, Dribbble will not make any edits to the actual design work itself (for example, an email address that appears within the design work itself). You are responsible for making those changes yourself before March 31st, 2025. However, in cases where the image that contains contact details is not the primary (thumbnail) image, that specific image will be automatically removed from the Shot after March 31st, 2025.
To avoid having any images removed from your Shots, please edit them before March 31st, 2025.
What if I have too many Shot images to manually update?
If you have a large number of Shot images containing contact details, you can contact the Dribbble Support Team for assistance. Depending on the specifics of each case, we may be able to help.
Why can’t I edit Shots images uploaded before 2021?
Earlier versions of Dribbble’s uploader tool are incompatible with the latest version of the platform, preventing edits to older images. If you have a large number shots that are not editable, contact Dribbble Support to explore available options.
