Outbound Proposals makes it easy to start projects by sending professional proposals to your clients, whether they're on Dribbble already or not.
You can share a proposal with a simple link or send it directly through Dribbble, collect payment securely, and manage the entire project from start to finish, all in one place. Everything you need is built in, including contracts, payments, messaging, and support, so you can focus on the work instead of the admin.
What are Outbound Proposals?
Outbound Proposals are designed for your clients who are ready to kick off a project. Instead of juggling documents, invoices, and payment tools separately, you can send a complete proposal that includes your scope, timeline, and pricing in one place.
Once your client reviews and pays, the proposal automatically becomes an active project. From there, you can message your client, share deliverables, and request approval without leaving Dribbble.
Who can I send an Outbound Proposal to?
You can send an Outbound Proposal to any client you already know or have interacted with. This includes personal clients outside of Dribbble, as well as people you’ve previously worked with or chatted with on Dribbble.
If you’re working as part of a Team, access to contacts is shared to make collaboration easier:
Team owners can send proposals to anyone who has reached out to the team.
Teams can send proposals to anyone who has reached out to a team owner.
This shared access helps keep everything in one place. It allows you to consolidate projects under a single account and easily hand off clients between teammates or points of contact without losing context.
*Team members’ personal contacts are not included.
How do I create an Outbound Proposal?
Getting started is simple. Go to the Outbound Proposal page and select 'Create Proposal' to add your project details, timeline, and project cost. You can structure your proposal to fit your project, whether that’s a single total cost or multiple milestones with defined deliverables and revisions.
How do I send a proposal to a client?
Once you complete your proposal, you can send it to your clients in two ways:
Share with a link (for personal clients): Generate a private link and send it directly to your client. They can review the proposal, submit payment, and get started from that link.
Send to a Dribbble client (for on-platform contacts): Select a client you’ve connected with on Dribbble. They’ll receive an email prompting them to review and pay.
What is a no-fee proposal?
If you invite a client who is new to Dribbble, your proposal qualifies as a no-fee proposal. This means there are no Platform Fees for you or your client, not just for this project but for any future work you do together.
*Payment processing fees still apply.
When is a client considered 'new to Dribbble'?
A client is considered new to Dribbble if they have never created an account before. This includes any accounts made with different email addresses. If a client has previously signed up for Dribbble in any way, they would not be considered new.
🛟 If you believe your client is new but you’re still seeing Platform Fees, ask your client to reach out to Dribbble Support so we can take a closer look.
What if my client doesn’t have a Dribbble account?
Your client can still review your proposal right away. When they’re ready to move forward and submit payment, they’ll be prompted to create a Dribbble account as part of the process.
Do Outbound Proposal projects count toward my ranking?
Yes. Projects completed through Outbound Proposals count as completed work on Dribbble. This means they can contribute to your activity and overall ranking, just like other completed projects on the platform.
How do I get paid when sending an Outbound Proposal?
When you send an Outbound Proposal, your client pays upfront through Dribbble, and the funds are held securely until the work is completed and approved, helping protect both you and your client. Dribbble supports flexible payment structures, including Kickoff Payments and Milestones.
After the payment is released, your earnings are paid out using your selected payout method, either Payoneer payouts or bank transfers with Stripe.
Will I get the same Dribbble project tools and support with an Outbound Proposal?
Yes. You’ll have access to the full Dribbble project experience every time you use Outbound Proposals. This includes secure payments held until approval, built-in contracts, and a dedicated project thread for messaging and file sharing.
If anything comes up, Dribbble support is there to help, so you’re never handling issues on your own.
