Dribbble is designed to give you everything you need to find, hire, and collaborate with top designers—all within a secure, all-in-one platform. You can scope your project, meet with designers, and build trust before booking without needing to exchange contact information.
Here’s how to make the most of project discovery on Dribbble:
Can I ask for a designer’s contact details before booking?
Contact details can only be shared once a project is fully booked and paid. Before then, all communication—including messaging, discovery calls, and file sharing—should happen directly on Dribbble.
This helps keep your project secure and ensures both you and the designer are protected by Dribbble’s platform policies.
Can designers share their personal websites or external portfolios?
Designers can share their Dribbble profiles and any work published on Dribbble. You’ll find that many designers showcase full case studies, multi-image shots, and videos directly on their profile.
They’re also able to share links to live work they’ve done (like websites or products), as long as the conversation stays on Dribbble.
What if I want to share an NDA, contract, or project files before booking?
That’s no problem. You can upload documents or assets directly through Dribbble messages. Your designer can review, sign, and return documents without needing to leave the platform.
If you need to share tools like Figma or Notion, we recommend:
Exporting a shareable version of the file
Or walking through files together during a discovery call on Dribbble
Just be sure your documents don’t contain personal contact information, as that should only be shared after booking.
Can I share my website, brand guidelines, or other project links?
Yes. You’re welcome to share your website, branding materials, and other project-related resources to help guide the discovery process. Just note that using those links to move the conversation off Dribbble before booking is against our terms.
Can I send a design brief or intake form?
Absolutely. Feel free to send any materials that help the designer understand your goals and scope. Just make sure your forms don’t request the designer’s contact information or include your own.
What if I want to move the conversation to email or another platform?
We ask that all communication stays on Dribbble until a project is officially booked. This ensures both sides are protected and that the hiring process remains secure. If you have concerns or need help, our support team is happy to assist.
What if the designer suggests moving the conversation off Dribbble?
All communication should stay on Dribbble until the project is fully booked and paid. If a designer asks to move the conversation elsewhere—whether to email, messaging apps, or another platform—we recommend redirecting the conversation back to Dribbble.
Keeping everything on-platform protects your project and ensures you have access to support, secure payments, and Dribbble’s guarantees. If you’re unsure how to proceed, feel free to reach out to our support team.
What if I need an invoice?
Your Project Proposal acts as an invoice—it includes scope, payment terms, and pricing, and is shared before any payment is made. Once you book a project, you’ll receive a detailed receipt for your records.
If you need a more formal version, your designer can upload a PDF invoice in the message thread, as long as it directs payment through Dribbble and doesn’t include contact information.
