Every conversation, application, and proposal is organized in one place—making it simple to manage your entire hiring process from start to finish.
How do I create a project brief?
To create a new Project Brief, start here. We'll ask you a few easy-to-answer questions to help outline your project, including:
The type of work you need
Your preferred style
A bit about your business
Your budget and general timeline
☑️ Publishing is optional—you can keep the brief private and only send it to selected recommended designers if you prefer.
Where are briefs published?
Published briefs appear on the Project Briefs page. This page features a limited preview of each brief, and only Pro members will be able to view your full brief details and apply.
📪 We don’t attach your name or contact information to your brief. Interested designers only see the details you choose to include in your approved brief.
How do designers apply to my brief?
Designers can apply to your brief when it’s published on the Project Briefs page, or when you invite them directly from your Recommended tab. When they’re ready to apply, they can choose between two options:
Intro message: Designers can apply with a short written introduction and a required budget estimate.
Proposal: Designers can submit a complete proposal that includes final deliverables, timelines, and budgets. Learn more about Proposals.
All applications—intro messages and proposals—appear together in your Submissions tab.
🤝 Each Pro designer gets a limited number of credits each month to apply to briefs, which helps ensure the interest you receive is high-intent.
How do I review designer matches and applicants?
With project briefs, you have a simple dashboard that keeps everything in one place. On your dashboard, you'll find four tabs to help you manage your pipeline:
Recommended: Powered by InstantMatch, a curated list of designers you can invite to apply to your brief.
Submissions: All incoming intro messages and proposals.
Contacted: Designers you've already messaged or requested.
Archived: Designers you're not interested in.
How do I edit or unpublish my project brief?
You can edit your brief at any time, just open your brief dashboard and select the 'Edit Brief' button to make changes.
To unpublish your brief, simply toggle off the 'Publish brief to receive proposals' switch on your brief dashboard. Your brief will be removed immediately, but will remain accessible to you, along with all submissions and conversations.
More FAQs
Why didn't my brief publish right away?
If your brief does not appear on the brief page, it is likely still being reviewed by our moderators. Most briefs are reviewed and approved in under 10 minutes.
How long will my brief stay live?
A published brief stays visible on the Project Briefs page for 14 days unless you manually remove it earlier using the publish toggle on the brief dashboard.
Do I need to pay to post a brief?
You do not need a paid plan to post a project brief. Anyone with a free Dribbble account can create and publish a brief.
Will I be notified when designers apply?
Yes. You will receive bundled notifications when designers submit an intro message or a proposal for your brief.
Can I invite a specific designer to my brief?
Yes. You can invite specific designers directly from your brief's recommended designers tab, even if your brief is not published.
Can I hire more than one designer for the same brief?
You can hire multiple designers from a single brief if your project calls for more than one person or if you decide different designers are a good fit for different parts of the work.
Is there a limit to how many designers can apply?
There is no set limit on the number of applications your brief can receive. However, because designers spend credits to apply, the responses you see are generally from designers who have a strong interest in your project.
How many briefs can I post at once?
You can create and publish as many briefs as you need.
What happens when my brief expires?
When your brief expires after 14 days, it is unpublished from the Project Briefs page, and new designers can no longer apply. You will still have access to any ongoing conversations with designers you have already contacted.
Can I repost a brief that has expired or been rejected?
No. Once a brief has expired or been rejected, it can’t be reposted. If you’d like to share the project again, you’re welcome to create a new brief with the same or updated details.
