When you need to go over your Dribbble project in more detail, video calls make it easy for clients and designers to connect. You can start a call at any stage—before the proposal to discuss project details, during the proposal to review terms, or after funding to check in on progress and share feedback. This feature is especially useful for complex projects, helping clients and designers build rapport, align expectations, and collaborate more effectively in real time.
Video calls on Dribbble are powered by Google Meet. You don’t need a separate account to join a meeting.
To help support the way you work, you can either start an instant call or schedule a meeting for a future time.
How to Start an Instant Video Call
Head to your project thread and click the video call button next to the message box when you're ready to chat.
Your video call will open in Google Meet, and your project partner will get an invite right in the thread.
When you're finished, click "Leave meeting" in Google Meet, and your project thread will show the call has ended.
How to Schedule a Video Call
To book a call:
Coordinate a time and date with the other person via Dribbble messages.
Click “Schedule a meeting” to the right of your project message thread.
Choose a date and time for the call and confirm your time zone.
Add a meeting title, then click Send.
Dribbble will automatically:
Send a confirmation email to both parties with the Google Meet link
Provide a calendar file to add the meeting to your personal calendar
Send a reminder email 15 minutes before the meeting to help you stay on schedule
Need to make changes? You can reschedule or cancel a meeting at any time. Both actions will trigger a new email with updated details so everyone stays in sync.
Dribbble Meeting Tips
Need more participants? Simply share the Google Meet link with other team members by selecting 'Copy Link' in your message thread.
Prefer a voice-only call? No worries—just turn off your camera before you start.
There is no time limit on your Google Meet. You can use a Dribbble meeting for a quick check-in, or long working sessions.
Video Call Best Practices
Schedule in advance. While not required, we recommend setting up a time for your call or asking your project partner if they're ready to chat before initiating a meeting.
Keep a record of important details. Take notes on key requirements discussed on a call and share them in the chat afterward. This helps keep both parties aligned and provides a clear reference if any disagreements arise.
Protect sensitive information. Never share credit card details, banking info, or personal identification numbers (such as your SSN) during video calls.
Be professional and prepared. Show up on time and keep the conversation focused and efficient. Respect everyone’s time by staying on topic, and before ending the call, summarize your next steps.
Prepare your setup and environment. Test your internet connection, microphone, and camera beforehand, and choose a quiet, well-lit space to ensure a smooth and professional call.
Follow Dribbble’s Community Guidelines. Inappropriate behavior—such as offensive language or harassment —won’t be tolerated. Read the guidelines here.
